Mohammed Ali has been painting murals around the globe from Kuala Lumpur to New York. He has been painting professionally for around 20 years. He was mostly under the name ‘Aerosol Arabic’ but now prefers to go by his birth name of Mohammed Ali. His art has evolved and he now explores with film, theatre, performance art, installation yet the spirit of the spray-can still seems to always feature… Enjoy these short films that give an insight into his world of presenting the stories of immigrant communities to curating festivals…

Lebanon-Syria camps
In 2018 Mohammed Ali travelled to the refugee camps in the border of Lebanon and Syria. He was hosted by Islamic Relief to visit the camps and paint art with them. On his return to the UK he painted a mural in London reflecting what he saw.

Cromer Street Mural - London
As part of the Bloomsbury Festival, Mohammed Ali creates a mural that reflects the large Bangladeshi community in the Kings Cross area. He records interviews of the people and embeds the voices into the mural as an augmented reality experience.

Bangladesh To Birmingham

Mohammed Ali is passionate about food and regularly delivers immersive dining experiences. This was one which took over the Birmingham Repertory Theatre where he brings music, projections and surrounds the diners.

‘Same Boat’ St Wulfram’s Church, Lincolnshire
in 2021 just as lockdown was lifted in the UK, Mohammed Ali was invited to create this performance at St Wulfram’s Church in Lincolnshire. He collaborates with musician Cleveland Watkiss to create this.

Mohammed Ali delivers a zoom art lesson to his primary school after being disillusioned with the online teaching offer during Covid lockdowns. His online lessons to children and adults become popular and delivers them regularly

Domestic Violence Performance - Melbourne 2015

Mohammed Ali delivers a stage-based performance during a conference. He works with other artists to record their voice to create this compelling narrative of a woman suffering from Domestic abuse.
